My philosophy is you can get just as much work done (or as little) while having a good time as you can without, so might as well laugh while you live and laugh while you learn. (At least that's what I told my teachers who thought me a bit odd!) But now you can laugh and learn in the comfort of your own home. Phooey on those humorless teachers!

I grew up in theater (mostly because I couldn't find my way home from all those backstage corridors! Boy, is it confusing back there!)

Then paid my way through UCLA film school by delivering 4000 singing, tap-dancing telegrams. No, I'm not kidding. Would I make something like that up?

Managed to get into the Assistant Directors Training program for Film (they choose a dozen out of about 1200 applicants- yahoo!), and was an Assistant Director for more years than many of you have been alive -- but fun stuff! "Six Feet Under," "Driving Miss Daisy," "Amazing Stories," "Steel Magnolias," "Romy and Michele's High School Reunion," "Inherit the Wind" (with George C. Scott and Jack Lemmon!), yada yada. Started directing a few years ago -- made several award-winning short films, directed my first feature film "Next of Kin" recently, and now I bring all this zaniness to the world of signing. Hey, I'm learning along with the rest of you! It really IS fun!
