I am a songwriter, singer, guitar and harmonica player living in Asheville, NC. I began writing songs around 2008. I began performing publicly in 2010 around Burlington, VT, released a solo EP in 2012( http://www.bandcamp.com/matttownsendmusic ) and began recording a full-band LP in 2013. Music to me is a spiritual practice, a mode of healing and connection between all people. There was a time when I couldn't play music anymore, but when the music returned it led me on the path of healing.
