Monk Parrots is a nonprofit multidisciplinary theater company based in New York

Monk Parrots multidisciplinary theatre company develops and produces new theatre, music theatre, and opera for New York, national, and international audiences. We support artists exploring socially relevant themes in experimental and thought-provoking ways. We take risks on unknown material and uncommon methods, e.g., commissioning composers to write their first opera or inviting playwrights to write text based on a director’s vision. We have produced nine new works since 2010.
