Helpless they wait for HOPE...but they sit on the wayside ignored by those around them.

This is the story of many victims who become disabled as a result of a natural disaster. Life with a disability is not easy, especially in areas that suffered devastation. Not only is a child unable to physically move but also suffer the emotional loss of losing family.

“God says to us to use our various gifts to serve others...1 Peter 4:10”

This is one story of a 7 year old little girl who was trapped beneath the crumbled wreckage of her home for two days. She tried to ignore the shooting pains in her right arm as she sang beneath the rubble. Above, rescue workers try to find the little girl who is buried below as a result of the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. Finally, her father hears her singing and they begin to dig through the wreckage. The little girl survived but with the loss of her arm due to an infection from it being crushed from the fallen concrete. But she also suffers the loss of her mother and sister who are entombed beneath the rubble of their home.

Many victims have similar stories and the cultural attitudes towards their disabilities does not make it any easier. Those with disabilities sit on the wayside while others pass them by with pity, charity, overprotection by family members, or abandonment, some are outcasted, ignored or forgotten by their community. Few see the disabled as capable, employable, or adequate.

Again, His children sit and wait for HOPE for physical healing from pain and impairment, emotional healing and the ability to be viewed and participate equally in their community.

God says to us to use our various gifts to serve others. Won’t you use your gifts and help the disabled like the little girl found in the rubble, by helping us provide rehabilitation so the disabled can be empowered, mobile, functional, self-sufficient and discover the love of Jesus Christ? Will you join us? Will you give a little - or a lot! or use your gifts to help us for the children of God. Please Give a Gift Today.

For His Children,

Dr. Marte Allen, Executive Director
