You got blood all over the dough!
Lena Cigleris has been writing since she was very small, and her first short story, The Adventures of Red and Freddy, about a cardinal bird and his mouse friend and their adventures, won rave reviews from her second grade teacher. She began writing plays at fourteen and her very first play, Alone? (about a girl who befriends all the ghosts that lived and died in her room in her new house) was produced at the Omaha Theater Company for Young People’s Young Playwright’s Festival in Omaha, Nebraska. They went on to produce two of her other works: Boswell, a play about a girl who won’t come out of the basement and Irobibobidoe, which revolves around an eight year old boy accused of apple-ing his family to death. A local high school called Millard North also performed Irobibobidoe. Her play Strange Bedfellows was produced at the Manhattan Repertory Theater in 2007. She enjoys all things horror and making audiences squirm with hilarious offensive material.
