President/Founder of K9 Kindness Rescue, Inc.

I started K9 Kindness Rescue on April 30, 2004. Our Rat Terrier had been hit by a car and killed, and as I was online looking for another little Rattie, I learned about animal rescue. Since then, God has blessed K9 Kindness. We have rescued and placed into carefully screened, loving home, over 750 dogs, as well as a few cats and a couple of ferrets! We rely on private homes to "foster" our dogs, and we have no shelter or building. 98% of the funds we take in goes directly to pay off our vet bills. We are all volunteers. No one is paid. Our rescued dogs receive the same veterinary care by our very wonderful vets, that our own dogs receive. We make sure each dog is healthy, altered, up to date on all vaccinations and microhipped. Rarely do our adoption fees cover all our vet expenses. Therefore we fundraise, and come with special needs to places like IndieGoGo for financial help.

I am a music teacher in the Davenport Community Schools and have 2 grown sons. I share my home with my own 3 dogs, Hunter (a 9 year old fox red Labrador Retriever), Shiloh (a 13 year old Beagle), and Kano (a 9 year old mixed breed).
