Our Ensemble wants to breathe Etty Hillesum's voice where it was taken from her, at Auschwitz. Words flowed from her, first like a little brook, then a stream, then a river—a river of words, a river of freshness flowing into her notebooks and letters, even from that place—Auschwitz. Her words burst the dam of Auschwitz. So we will go there, our small ensemble, to speak her words, swelling them in the strains of the cello. It will be winter and we will bring Etty's voice there to wash the snow.
