Hello, friends and family!

I'm currently working as a Public Relations intern with The Borgen Project. The Borgen Project is a small non-profit located in Seattle that works to raise awareness of global issues and generate political support for bills that support developing countries.

The U.S. is ranked near last among developed countries in terms of how much assistance it gives to developing countries. This lack of commitment on the part of our government in part contributes to instability and violence worldwide, not to mention violence targeted specifically at the U.S. For these reasons, it is in our interest to promote development and equality throughout the entire world, not just our own country.

The Borgen Project is entirely run by unpaid interns - even the organization's founder and president (my boss!), Clint Borgen, works on a volunteer basis and holds down an evening job on the side to support the organization.

100% of your donations go directly to the cause -- specifically, general operations maintenance, producing informative materials, and most importantly, sending Clint to Washington, D.C. to speak with Congressional leaders and encourage them to support bills like the Water for the World Act and the SLUM Assistance Act.

We are a low budget, but high-impact organization. Even a small donation can help. Check out The Borgen Project IndieGoGo profile (linked at the top of this page) to make a donation and help us meet our goal of $2000 by December!

Thanks!
Elizabeth
