Kibibi Ajanku makes and presents ethnically charged art. It is her joy to celebrate creativity in all forms. Ajanku’s projects include, but are not limited to, contemporary, performance, and visual art. She is known most broadly as the Founder of the Baltimore-based Sankofa Dance Theater, a performance company noted for dance and drum work that is drenched in the traditions of the historical Mali Dynasty, bringing New World choreography and texture to the Old World traditions of Africa.
