In order to better reach an international audience and study abroad, Ilay moved to New York in 2003.</p><p style="margin-top: 0.5em; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0.75em; margin-left: 0px; line-height: 16px; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; font-family: arial, helvetica; font-size: 12px; ">In New York he performed with his band, The Cliffs, and pursued a degree in Film and Psychology.</p><p style="margin-top: 0.5em; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0.75em; margin-left: 0px; line-height: 16px; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; font-family: arial, helvetica; font-size: 12px; ">In late 2008, after years of playing New York’s staple venues like CBGB, Crash Mansion and Highline Ballroom, Ilay recognized his true passion lay in filmmaking. He then founded Renaissance Eye Productions.</p><p style="margin-top: 0.5em; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0.75em; margin-left: 0px; line-height: 16px; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; font-family: arial, helvetica; font-size: 12px; ">Inspired by role models such as Hitchcock, Jacques Tourneur and Val Lewton he felt that his work should convey those influences.</p><p style="margin-top: 0.5em; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0.75em; margin-left: 0px; line-height: 16px; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; font-family: arial, helvetica; font-size: 12px; ">Together with cinematographer Alex Choonoo, his partner in Renaissance Eye, he continues to crate stories that capture the audience attention. They recently worked on the film The Bigger Picture a new feature, directed by Alex. Ilay keeps writing music but focuses more on his scripts and producing new projects. His latest project, a new feature horror Franklin Haunting which is currently in development. He is now working on a 10 episode web series calls Moments that is being filmed in New York, Paris and LA. </p></span>
