I found my passion for musical theater at the University of New Mexico. From there I moved to New York, where I performed professionally for the better part of a decade. I'm not going to say I've seen it all, but I have performed for thousands, and for crickets, and on this journey I found a love for simple, true musicals - shows with an honest story and great contemporary music. There is nothing wrong with big budget, heavy special effects show, but that kind of theater is difficult to produce on a local level, and can be a distraction from the emotional connection to its audience. Just because I don't have a Broadway budget doesn't mean that I can't bring powerful theater to my audience, or that my audience will enjoy it any less, if not more. What I'm setting out to accomplish with Oscar is to bring truly inspirational theater to you without a chandelier dropping on your head. Although, if it does drop Oscar will carry insurance.
