I am a freelance folklorist and artist. I love connecting people to culture, stories, music, and ideas. I am the founder and director of Old Songs New Opportunities (OSNO), started in 2004. It trains New American women to work in childcares and to use their traditional songs on the job. has been the most gratifying thing I've done. It has been an honor and sheer joy to be a little bridge that helps New Americans gain fulfilling employment and recognition for their indigenous knowledge.
