<p>Born and raised in the eclectic city of San Francisco, Galen has worked in a variety of fields from education to sustainable design to politics. After receiving his bachelors degree from UC Davis in 1999, Galen spent a year working as an Americorps member followed by a travel sabbatical in Central America. During his travels, he studied Spanish, volunteered in Managua, and worked on sustainable permaculture farms. Upon his return to San Francisco, he entered the education sector where he worked as a Special Education teacher and Teacher Naturalist. In 2005, he moved to Barcelona to teach English, continue his study of Spanish and engage in a number of startup businesses including Balling on a Budget Bike tours, which he successfully managed for two years.</p> <p>He has been working as Vice President of Nautical Torque Technology for the past 4 years, and has been responsible for strategic planning, grant writing and developing the business plan. With extensive travel experience and a firm grasp of the clean tech sector, Galen is well situated to help move Nautical Torque towards commercialization. </p>
