Changing the world one logical thought at a time
Hi. My name is Addison Miller, and I am an entrepreneur and activist from Norman, Oklahoma. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a BA in Journalism in 2009.<div><br></div><div>I have had a vast array of different life goals growing up, ranging from paleontologist to thespian. Only a few have stuck through the years, and I currently find myself dividing my time between acting, writing, film production, and business development.</div><div><br></div><div>I personally believe the quickest way to get somewhere is to just take the reigns and steer yourself, which is why I have taken such an entrepreneurial approach to my film career.</div><div><br></div><div>Eventually, I would like to shift the kind of influence that mainstream media has on us as individuals and as a society. I in no way intend to villainize the media; I personally think it is a rather astonishing force and has the potential to benefit all of us in a pretty awesome way. However, the current method in which it is being exploited by money-hungry elite is having a devastating impact on how we function as a culture. I intend to correct that.</div><div>The better informed we are as a public the better our decisions are going to be. And right now, it is pretty evident that we are very ill-informed, in spite of all the information we currently have at our fingertips. And the blame rests solely on the current state of our media. </div><div><br></div><div>I would love to see a day when government regulations are at a minimum. Not because we fought so hard against them, but because we simply don't need them anymore--we are educated and informed enough that we are capable of taking care of ourselves without the assistance of some regulatory body. We wouldn't need anti-smoking laws, not because the tobacco companies won, but because we became better informed and better equipped to make the decision not to smoke and they ultimately lost. If I can help our world achieve this form of independence at any point in the near future, I will consider my life a success.</div>
