Strange Fruit is my directorial solo debut as a film-maker. The story was born out of the need to loosen our understanding related to the touchy subject abortion as much as any theme that is kept silent in our society: the story is dedicated to a woman and now mother and her son Ben who wouldn't have been born without the sharing of a secret. I tried to digest and artistically interpret the mechanism of shame and the dealing with out "ghosts from the pasts" in this production and hope that the audience will be moved, a little disturbed (in a good way, if that is at all possible) but always encouraged to embrace their truth and life in general.

I was extremely blessed to have met such amazing talent during my career as an actress, among them my beautiful, intelligent, sensitive and talented actresses Daniela Torchia and newcomer Lauren Annette Schoth (who I proudly claim to have discovered:-)...) and my old friend and DP Arsen Matevossian who I have met, just like Daniela, working on other films as an actress.

I cannot stress enough how Daniela's talent as a songwriter and composer contributed to the film, too - a true blessing for "Strange Fruit".

Little Ben is now a year old and my film stands as a reminder of how our dark spots in the past can give birth to light, love and joy.
