<p>DJ Lopez started his filmmaking journey in middle school, where he attended a video technology class, got bit by the bug, and has been making films ever since.&nbsp;</p> <p>In 2006, he joined the California Army National Guard as a military police officer. From 2007-2008 he was deployed to Baghdad, Iraq.</p> <p>Upon returning home from Iraq in 2008, he decided to use his GI Bill and follow his first love, film.</p> <p>He graduated in 2011 from the one-year filmmaking program at New York Film Academy in Los Angeles, CA. His thesis film "Gone", a powerful military drama, is told from a perspective rarely touched upon in films, that of a grieving soldier. The film, inspired by true events, is currently in post-production.</p> <p>DJ Lopez is the founder of his own company, CL3 Productions, which has currently produced numerous short films and is in the devolopement stages of a live-action TV series.&nbsp;</p>
