Short bios on the founding team. Greg Nicholson spent his early career as an executive at Time Warner. He spent the last 15 years managing high technology companies. At startup Relevant Knowledge he managed the sales and marketing effort which contributed to a successful initial public offering. Recently, Greg was co-founder and CEO of EGT, a provider of advanced signal processing equipment to telecom operators worldwide, acquired by Arris. During his tenure, each company reached $10MM in revenue within two years of product launch and raised a combined $50MM in venture capital from premier national firms. Greg was appointed an Honorary Entrepreneur by the Advanced Technology Development Center and the Technology Association of Georgia. Greg received his BA and MBA from Vanderbilt University. John Hartung, PhD spent 21 years at AT&T Bell Laboratories after receiving graduate degrees in physics and EE. During his first 10 years at the Holmdel Bell Labs facility he architected digital signal processors and signal processing algorithms that were deployed commercially; and then joined Bell Labs Research in both the Multimedia Communications Research Lab and the Networking Research Lab. In his career, John has produced pioneering results in processor architecture, integrated circuit design, video encoding, video object recognition, voice over IP and secure network encryption. In 2001 John joined startup EGT where he built signal processing equipment for the cable, satellite, and telecom industries, and served as CTO until the company was acquired by Arris. John has 16 issued and 4 pending patents. Sophia Schade spent the last 35 years in retail, and most recently as a Vice President at Sam's Club, Home Depot and Fred’s. At Sam’s Club, a division of Wal-Mart, Sophia was the Vice President of Merchandising for and oversaw sales in excess of $1.2 billion. At Home Depot, she was the Vice President of Merchandising for Paint and Décor and was responsible for $7 billion in company revenues. Sophia has extensive experience in product innovation at big box retail store chains, strategic category management and development, merchandising, global product sourcing and vendor negotiation.
