Fabric Dragon Designs

I have always been involved in arts and crafts, but never really thought of making a living from it. I had a lot of trouble in school due to undiagnosed learning disabilities (back in the dark ages when if you read well you didn't have one!) so i didn't go to college. i went into what i am good at: sales.

I got the name "Fabric Dragon" when my husband claimed i was hoarding fabric the way dragons hoard gold... i started a business making medieval costumes, partly to justufy buying more fabric and trim...

After a lot of time in the school of hard knocks getting injured, slowly recovering, etc.. i had it pointed out to me that people in business spoke to my ex business partner instead of to me because she had a DEGREE... (this is not her fault, its theirs).

"but i am the sales person! i know the customers.."
"she has a degree"
"its in MATH!"

"doesnt matter. she has a degree, you don't, so people think you don't kow what you are doing."

so.. there i was at 43 going to admissions and getting into college. I figured if i was going to get a degree it may as well be in something i enjoy and am good at.. and i always complained that there are no modest, plus sized, fashionable clothes, so ... Here i am getting my B.S. in Fashion Design.

I am currently in school. It is kind of odd being older than many of my teachers, but i am learning a lot. i am still running my own business as best i can with mid-terms and finals and school deadlines, mostly at conventions and on etsy.

and i still spend a lot of money on fabric and trims.
