<p>SongFusion is a New York-based ensemble dedicated to presenting a wide range of art song repertoire in innovative ways. Our mission is to expand the traditional recital format, creating programs that explore familiar themes from unexpected angles, and collaborating with instrumentalists, dancers, actors, and visual artists. Our core group is made up of fast-emerging young artists with busy performing careers of their own who share the same passion and vision for this musical treasury. Our concerts are designed to appeal to a broad audience from all backgrounds - from connoisseurs to newcomers of all ages- and our repertoire ranges from traditional art song to works by living composers. Only months after its inaugural concert in February 2011, SongFusion had already collaborated with renowned composers Tom Cipullo, Ben Moore, John Musto, and James Primosch, Juilliard alumn, actor Clancy O'Connor, and the acclaimed visual artist Kevork Mourad. The ensemble commissioned a New Work from Mr. Moore which was premiered in October 2011 at Merkin Hall, and gave the New York premiere of a new song by Libby Larsen. SongFusion has received advice and encouragement from many leading NYC musicians. including members of NYFOS, Juilliard faculty, and award-winning composer James Primosch who reviewed the group's first program as "quite wonderfully varied, with thoughtful and imaginative programming" and praised the "very fine performances all evening."</p>
