Storyteller and Filmmaker
Doug Stapleton is a Seattle-based filmmaker that is focused on developing and producing innovative projects that tell great stories. As a native to Washington State, Doug is a strong advocate for fostering economic growth by producing projects locally. Prior to pursuing his filmmaking career, Doug worked for more than eight years in the software and high technology industries and another four years as a land-use planner. With a lifelong passion for film, Doug decided to focus exclusively on his filmmaking career. So in 2007, he left his job and went back to school full-time. Doug is a graduate of the University of Washington's Film and Video Production Program, Dov Simens Two-Day Film School and Bellevue College's Advanced Track in Video Production. As an intern for King 5’s Evening Magazine, Doug produced a story about the “Sea-Tac Lost and Found” that aired in March of 2009. That same year, he produced and directed First Note for the Children’s Music Foundation, which received the 2009 AEGIS National Award. In 2011, he produced and directed a water savings video for the Cascade Water Alliance that received the W3 Award from the International Academy of Visual Arts. Also in 2011, Doug wrote, produced and directed his first short film “Take 38”, which is currently being submitted to national and international film festivals. Currently, Doug owns and operates Photo Finish Films, Inc. a full-service production company that produces a wide range of film and video content from corporate branding to entertainment and documentary productions. When he’s not working on film or video projects, Doug loves to travel the world with his wife, Valerie. Testimonials “From audition to screening, it was an absolute pleasure to work with Doug.
