Playwright and founder of 17Percent; an organisation to support female playwrights.

My background is as a playwright and former journalist and editor: my passion is helping writers to develop their writing. To do this I run two literature development initiatives: a local writers group, ME4Writers and 17Percent. 17Percent is an organisation to support and promote female playwrights, which I set up in 2009, to find ways to remedy the barriers that are faced by female playwrights. Since then, 17Percent has supported the work of over 50 female playwrights in various ways.
