Griffin Payne is an award-winning spoken word poet, teaching artist, and activist in both the Queer and mental health communities. He is the former Director and Slam-Master of Poetry Slam Asheville, as well as a former classroom teacher and mental healthcare worker. In addition to performances, Griffin earns his living by teaching workshops in spoken word and other forms of radical storytelling in schools, community centers, and privately.
