A Freelance Documentary Photographer
<p>Ed Thompson (b.1980, Wales) developed a distinctive style from an early apprenticeship with the Russian photographer Sergey Chilikov, whom he met at the Arles Photography Festival 2002. In an apprenticeship in Paris he learnt the value of shooting everyday life, and how these images can allow you to touch at something great. He spent 16 weeks over two years (2006-07) photographing in the Texas Hill Country which he completed during the Master’s Degree in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography at the London College of Communication for which he received a first class distinction. His documentary photo-essays have been published in international magazines & newspapers including National Geographic Magazine, Newsweek Japan, Greenpeace Magazine, The Sunday Times Magazine Spectrum Supplement (U.K), l'Espresso, D Republicca and IL (Italy), A Magazine (Belgium), Curated by (Belgium) and Der Freitag (Germany). He is a freelance photographer for The Telegraph Magazine, Guardian Weekend Magazine, The Sunday Times Magazine and IL Magazine (Italy). His work has also featured on television internationally and exhibited in photography festivals in Arles (France), Tampere (Finland) & London (U.K). He is represented for his editorial work by <em>LUZphoto</em>, Italy and <em>Salt Images</em>, Russia. He is represented for print sales in the U.K by <em>Eyestorm</em>.</p>
