I am a literacy educator who is also a broadcast journalist.

I am a reader, a writer, a speaker and a pretty good listener. Literacy work is right in line with who I am and what I love. I believe that when children learn to love books and to enjoy reading, they acquire skills better and faster. I also believe it puts them in a position of strength so that they have more choices and more control concerning what happens to them. Literacy helps families to bond and in the big picture, it helps to protect and preserve our democracy.
