Daughter of Wang Bingzhang and unlikely human rights activist
Born in 1989, I was named to commemorate the victims of the Tiananmen Square Massacre. Shortly after my 13th birthday, my father, Wang Bingzhang, a veteran democracy activist, was arrested and sentenced to life in prison in China for his role in political activism. Since then, I've has spent much of her time and energy working for his freedom. It has been a journey that has taken me around the world in a process of discovery of the ideals embodied by my name.
