Do I dare disturb the universe? - T.S. Eliot

Hi my names Sue,

I am currently a Writer and Filmmaker supported by BFI Future Film, having won a place on the DIY Sci-Fi course run by the British Film Institute. Although I work freelance, I am not paid by the BFI to create any work.

I have written and shot several low-budget short films, which in the last two years have appeared in several prestigious film festivals including the Edingburgh International Film Festival, the BFI Future Film Festival and Sci-Fi London.

I began writing originally just to entertain myself as I always felt that there was a gap in the market for a Sci-Fi/Fantasy Drama which really understood the people they were writing for. I have been working for several years to bring ‘Chronicles of Syntax’ to film and I spend most my time writing all the scripts for the series while driving every area of the production process.

At present you can find me working hard on pre-production in preparation for season one to go into production in September .... while watching out for the next Joss Whedon or Steven Moffat creation , Final Fantasy game or Anime convention ;-)

iDare Productions was founded in 2008 specifically to house the ever expanding Chronicles of Syntax franchise under one umbrella. The series currently has over 6000 fans via online social networking sites, its own successful merchandise shop and constant requests for the graphic novel and in-series game TYCAN to become its own roleplaying sport.

All this attention has sprung from just one audio episode being posted on Youtube. It has been posted in three parts and lasts around 30mins. You can find it here: www.youtube.com/primaryfaction

At the same time as carrying Chronicles of Syntax forward, I have gone on to write for other films. My first short film ‘Daniel’ was a fantasy period drama shot on the Nokia N8 mobile phone and was just one of 8 commissioned by NOKIA. It premiered at the 65th Edinburgh International Film Festival. Shortly afterwards I began working with BFI Future Film where I wrote and shot the Sci-Fi short film ‘RX Terra’. It has been screened at the National Film Theatre five times so far this year and received positive feedback from many industry professionals, including Gareth Edwards (“Monsters”), Marc Price (“Colin”), Ed Hall (“John Carter”) and Sloane U’ren (“Dimensions”). I have a comedy/horror in post production at the moment I have just finished helping on a feature film called 'Void' by Jack Ayers, coming out very soon.

Bringing Chronicles of Syntax to life in a series that can be seen around the world would absolutely be a dream come true but I seriously cant do any of it without your help so please do get involved in whatever way you can.

Thank you!
