Composer/bassist/bandleader Ezra Gale's new outfit Super Hi-Fi mixes the deep basslines of Jamaican dub and reggae with the punch of funk, rock and Afro-beat. it's of a piece with his wildly succesful San Francisco-based 11-piece, Aphrodesia, which rode their take on West African music all the way to a memorable trip to Ghana and Nigeria to play at the legendary Shrine nightclub in 2006.

Gale studied with jazz legend Yusefl Lateef and with modern compser Martin Bresick, he had wrtten for ensembles from string quartets to rock bands to opera companies. Now with Super Hi-Fi he brings his unique compositional sense to bear on an unusual double trombone-led ensemble, the results of which, on two previously released 7" records, have been called "incredible Afro-dub greatness."

The new Super Hi-Fi project, the full-length "Dub To The Bone", is his boldest statement yet, helped along byt he incredible musicianship of Alex Asher and Ryan Snow on trombones, Will Graefe on guitar and Madhu Siddappa on drums.
