<p>An award-winning actor, director, writer, producer, and teacher, directed Ms. Julie Harris in LUCIFER’S CHILD (Broadway ane A & E TV), and has directed at the Pasadena Playhouse, The Taper, Santa Fe Stages, La Mama ETC, and Theatre Grévin in Paris. He directed Robyn Peterson’s CATWALK CONFIDENTIAL, (The Arts Theatre in London’s West End & Miami). A graduate of Juilliard, he has won top honors for his lead performances in THE MYSTERY OF IRMA VEP, BACH AT LEIPZIG, La BETE, SLOW MOTION and FOUR FATHERS, his original one-man show. He recently starred as “Dr. Rank” in A DOLL HOUSE opposite Calista Flockhart for LA TheatreWorks, ‘Salieri’ in the acclaimed Pittsburgh Public Theatre production of AMADEUS and ‘Polonius’ in HAMLET at A Noise Within. Internationally, he starred in PLATO’S SYMPOSIUM at the ICA, London and in ELECTRA in Delphi, Greece. He performed his original short story, COLOGNE, Off Broadway and in LA, Santa Fe, and Miami. He is the author of ten plays, two of which (co-authored BRAIN HOTEL and SIR VIVAL SWEEPSTAKES) have been produced at the Olympics Arts Festival and Mark Taper Forum respectively. . In Feb, `11, his most recent short story, SCHWINN, was published in the international journal, Boneshaker. His most recent play, BEAUTIFIED, had two public readings in February with an all-star cast including Academy Award nominee, Mary McDonnell. It is now being produced by Katselas Theatre Company, directed by Jenny Sullivan.</p> <p>His most recent of nearly 30 film appearances are in Richard Loncrain’s feature, MY ONE & ONLY and the soon to be released BEVERLY HILLS NINJA 2. Among his two-dozen television guest spots are THE L WORD, E.R., and FRASIER.</p> <p> He received the first of two NEA Directing Fellowships sponsored by Susan Lowenberg’s LA TheatreWorks and founded two performance venues of his own - The Accident Theater and The Night House, where he produced Tim Robbins’ Actors’ Gang in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM among many others. He is also the first recipient of the George Stevens Observership from the DGA & SDC, and a special citation for Innovation in Small Theatre from The Los Angeles Theatre Alliance.</p> <p> As of November 2011, Tony has been named Co-Artistic Director of Katselas Theatre Company along with longtime collaborators, Gary Grossman and Michael Kearns. At KTC, he co-produces the new play development series, INKubator at the Skylight Theater. Tony teaches acting at the USC School of Theatre and holds an Endowed Chair at Santa Monica Emeritus College.</p>
