<p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">Vanessa Crocini is an Italian documentary filmmaker currently living in Los Angeles. Her interest for documentaries comes from her curiosity to discover places, people and cultures associated to social issues and stories from all over the world.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">She graduated in Film from University of Bologna after being an exchange student at University of California, Santa Barbara. She has a Certificate Program in Entertainment Studies and Documentary Production from UCLA. She wrote, directed and edited a documentary called <em>The Night Belongs to Me</em> about her neighbor Reggie and a web series for the Italian Bonsai TV called <em>High School </em><span style="font-style: normal;">Love about </span>the American teenage world and relationships in several Los Angeles high schools.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">Vanessa directed and edited spec commercials for Current TV (G1 Phone, Axe, Nissan) and Google and worked as a Production Manager on the music video <em>Il Mondo Che Vorrei </em><span style="font-style: normal;"> of the</span> Italian rock star Vasco Rossi. She was the Second Unit Director for Amana Melome' music video <em>Caterpillar </em><span style="font-style: normal;">directed by Italian director Marco Ponti. </span>Currently she is the Media Director for the online eco-magazine <em>Your Daily Thread</em> where she contributes with videos about DIY recipes, Los Angeles green events and advice for an eco-sustainable life.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">She contributes for several Italian film magazines and blogs (CineClandestino, Ildocumentario.it, greenMe, Cineblog) with reviews, articles and interviews. </p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in; font-style: normal;"> </p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in; font-style: normal;">Vanessa worked in Rwanda, Africa, as Assistant Director with Italian filmmaker Alessandro Rocca on the documentary <em>The Consul's List</em> about the genocide and Pierantonio Costa, the Italian honorary consul that saved more than 2,000 people at that time. As she says interviewing some genocide survivors was not easy but it was important for being able to share those stories and give a new message of awareness of the past and hope and forgiveness for the future especially to all of those people that don't acknowledge Africa and its story and culture.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">Vanessa wrote, directed and edited Get Together Girls, the story of an Italian woman who quit her job in Italy to move to Kenya to start a tailoring project for former street girls.
