Writer's Story

Common Chord is my first screenplay. I started writing around the age of eight, loved the classics and wanted to impact people the way I had been impacted by what I read. For years I wrote poetry and short stories.

I attempted many times to write longer stories with frustration, when I was introduced to screenplay writing I really fell in love with the craft. Being a huge movie fan I grew up in the 80's with the emerging cable channles which meant allot of the classics of films from the 40’s, 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Loved the older films "Casablanca", "Dial M for Murder" Mr. Smith goes to Washington", "The Big Country"....these films moved me.

In screenwriting I realized both passions fused.

For many years we worked to craft the story of Common Chord, learning the process of screenwriting at the same time. It was difficult yet full of allot of joy as the story took shape, the world and characters we were creating came to life. Along the way we had allot of input from professional writers who ranged from helping us learn screenplay process, to the finishing touches on the final draft for production.

I am very excited and humbled to see Common Chord being produced and completed. Unlike other forms of writing screenwriting is collaboration with many different artists and skilled professionals to bring it to the finished viewing experience.

Looking forward to sitting in a theatre, pop corn in hand watching Common Chord come to life and impacting others.
