Enthusiastic Scouter

My name is David Atchley, and I am currently the acting Commissioner for the BPSA; and I live just outside of St. Louis, MO. I am also the Scoutmaster of a local BPSA Scout Group, the 10th Daniel Boone Scout Group, in Washington, MO - BPSA's first full Scout Group and registered local unit.

For my part, I am the father of five children and have a long scouting background. I was an Eagle Scout, Assistant Scoutmaster, BSA Summer Camp staffer and Assistant Program Director, Unit Commissioner, volunteer Scoutmaster with various inner-city troops and many other scouting related roles through my background as a scout.

I believe the youth of our country need a scouting program today that reflects the progressive, open and tolerant values we hold as a nation. An alternative program that keeps to the aims, methods and teachings of Scouting's founder Lord Robert Baden-Powell; that offers a program of progressive training in Scoutcraft/outdoor skills and teaches service over self to ALL boys and girls, men and women. BPSA's mantra is "Scouting for Everyone!"
