Writer of the Wargames rules Gruntz 15mm

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile! Developing the army builder solution for Gruntz is very important to me and all support is appreciated.

I live in the UK near Brighton in Sussex and I am an IT Manager with a career in aviation and travel. In my personal time I have a passion for the wargaming hobby and started painting miniatures and playing wargames in 1985. I still have some of the troglodytes I painted in humbrol enamels and carried to school in my blazer pocket to get my friends interested, they even appear in the odd dungeon 25 years on. I am obsessed by miniature wargaming and enjoy lavishing a lot of detail and energy into the look of my wargames terrain and the rules used to recreate a fun game.

Gruntz has been in development for three years and was launched as a PDF on the Wargames Vault in July 2011. Since then it has won awards and become the only gold selling product on the Wargames Vault. It continues to be a project which I invest a lot of energy in by supporting players on a busy forum, providing game support at clubs, shows and conventions. My wife and two children have been very patient as I regularly disappear into the garage for playtesting and development of the rules.

In my 20 year IT career I have worked on the design, system architecture and development of some major UK web sites, including the National Rail Enquiries, Glaxosmithkline, Conflict Studies Research Centre (Non-covert Russian media MOD agency), Virgin Holidays and TUI travel. My career skills in development of process, design and usability have allowed me to put the same attention to detail and commitment into building the game Gruntz, supported by ideas and design that work well, are easy to use and make gaming with the Gruntz rules fun.

Thank you for providing support for the development of the desktop application "Army Builder" for Gruntz. Please follow me on Twitter for regular updates and chat.
