Jay Dunn & John Leo

actors/creators of Handshake Uppercut

Jay and John met in the spring of 2010, at a Clowns Without Borders meeting (John went to Guatemala, Jay to Haiti). We began as just two guys in a room, committed to digging for raw, risky comedy that made people laugh for unexpected and sometimes unexplainable reasons. By slow cooking our work over 14 months, we ended up with a piece that audiences from our most recent runs described as "grotesque, emotional, hilarious, sweet & beautiful."

Handshake Uppercut began as a 15 minute piece at the NYC Clown Festival in September 2010 and gradually grew into a full-length show, most recently finishing a four week development residency and subsequent showings at Dixon Place, NYC in November 2011 and The Tank in May 2012. We are performing in the Chicago Fringe 2012 and the NY Clown Festivl in NYC, 2012.

Jay Dunn is an Actor/Director based in NYC.
