Creating an awareness of Canadian wilderness through art

I was born and raised in Banff National Park. Growing up I took courses at the Banff School of Fine Arts and spend many hours with my family outdoors hiking and fishing. After high school graduation I attended the Kootenay School of Art in Nelson B.C. Later I got married and gave birth to 3 beautiful girls. Later, I found myself supporting my children alone. I went back to school twice, once doing equine studies and working with racehorses and then to study computer science. I worked as a computer professional with the government for 20 years while raising my girls. Through those years I drew and painted whenever I could find the time. I retired as soon as I had enough of a pension to support myself. I knew I would not have much money to live on but I wanted to try being a full time artist before I got to old.
