The People's Bass
<p>James Harrington has been singing professionally in some form or another for the last eleven years. After several years with Cape Cod-based Hyannis Sound, he moved on to study at Boston's Berklee College of Music, where he primarily studied jazz.</p> <p>In recent years, his focus has returned to classical music, and recent months have seen his debut as a soloist with the GRAMMY-winning Nashville Symphony (Duruflé's <em>Requiem</em>) and in roles at Nashville Opera (Marquis in <em>La Traviata</em>, Fouquier Tinville in <em>Andrea Chénier</em>).</p> <p>Upcoming performances include a debut with Opera New Jersey, a debut in the role of Collatinus in Britten's <em>Rape of Lucretia</em> in Detroit in August, and a joint recital of the complete songs of French composer Henri Duparc.</p>
