What would you do if you or a loved one suddenly experienced a stroke?

As a writer, I have been deeply moved and inspired over the years by the courage and heartache of both the patient's and their families in dealing with the after-affects of having a stroke. I have truly learned more from my patient's over the years that they have learned from me. While we tend to think of stroke patients as being older, I have also been stunned over the years at the number of patient's who have been in their 20's, 30's, and 40's and how a stroke profoundly affects their life.
