I am The Future of Late Night Television
<p>Charismatic, intelligent and humorous…Quick-witted, relatively edgy, and unpredictable... Eclectic, Eccentric & Electric... There is an indescribable something that will make people want to watch him show after show. That something is known as "The It Factor.” The person being described is known as Motown Maurice.</p> <p>Before venturing into the world of entertainment, Motown Maurice received his degree in broadcast journalism from Florida A&M University (FAMU). Initially, Motown Maurice’s plans were to become a news anchor/reporter. After one production assistant job at ABC Channel 27 in Tallahassee, FL, he decided to shift gears and start his own video/photography business instead. His entrepreneurial spirit sprung from leadership positions with student organizations while in college.</p> <p>Motown Maurice Productions, Inc., was officially established March of 2004 as a full purpose production company that focused on preserving “Memories With Excellence, for its clients. As a videographer/photographer, Motown Maurice became the official photographer for several community oriented organizations and simultaneously grew the desire to make a difference in his community.</p> <p>By June of 2007, Motown Maurice created a self help series that provided his community a voice and consistent platform to address various issues/concerns. It was a monthly discussion forum called Wide aWoke Wednesday’s (WaW). Each show was topic based and featured approximately 4 community experts. The experts ranged from authors, attorneys, motivational speakers, community leaders, historians, politicians and much more.</p> <p><br />There was an average of 100 audience members per discussion. WaW was very well known throughout the Tampa Bay community and impacted the lives of thousands of people socially and financially.</p> <p> </p> <p>The evolution of WaW also united Motown Maurice with one of his college desires to host his own talk show. WaW was so innovate that within a year, the branding of the discussion forum evolved into a live interactive talk show. Motown was first introduced as the moderator and later introduced as the host. After 2 1/2 years of inspiring people with WaW, Motown Maurice began to recognize his comical strengths and soon after decided to make his mark in the entertainment industry.</p> <p>On Saturday, January 23, 2010 Motown Maurice launched The Motown Maurice Show. Tampa Bay’s first late night talk show recorded live in front of a studio audience. Using all of his resources, Motown Maurice over mobilized 50 volunteers, utilized 4 credit cards, and recruited 1 title sponsor (The Law Offices of Pamela Y. Robinson).</p> <p>“The Motown Maurice Show – Late Night Television with an Old School Twist” premiered with celebrity guests such as Bern Nadette Stains (known as Thelma from “Good Times”) and Tommy Ford from the hit comedy show “Martin.” The immediate success of The Motown Maurice Show earned him a “Key to the City” from the Mayor of Tampa, Pam Iorio. Many of his fans and followers proclaimed Motown Maurice as The Future of Late Night Television after receiving the Key.</p> <p>The first season consisted of 8 episodes and were all broadcasted on the WTTA My TV Tampa Bay Station. In order to air the shows, Motown Maurice reserved 10 paid programming slots Friday nights at 1:00am. The coverage area reached Tampa and 9 other surrounding counties.</p> <p>Before leaving Tampa, Motown Maurice hosted approximately over 40 shows in front of a live studio and interviewed well over 200 people. Tampa, FL brought Motown much success and disappointment therefore he relocated to Los Angeles, California to achieve his burning desires for television hosting. He arrived on September 19, 2010 and within two days signed with First Class Talent Agency. Together they are working hard to secure Motown Maurice’s band of excellence as a nationally syndicated television host. Motown Maurice is a not only a sketch comedian, entertainer and host he is man whose voice, vision, and actions speak volumes towards entertaining and inspiring.</p>
