<p><strong>SEAN SIMPSON - Cinematographer, Editor</strong></p> <p>Sean is a digital artist and filmmaker in Staten Island, NY, originally from Providence, RI. &nbsp;He has&nbsp;received is MFA in Photography and Related Media from Parsons School of Design, The New&nbsp;School University in 2008 and has participated in various group shows and film festivals in New&nbsp;York, Los Angeles and Boston as well as Internationally in video art festivals including Festival<br />Miden in Cyprus and Kalamata Greece. Sean Simpson has also produced commissioned temporary&nbsp;and permanent video installations for Scholastic Book and ReadersDigest America.</p> <p>"Sean Simpson&nbsp;thumbs his nose at apocalyptic visions of the future and mocks past predictions of our demise. He&nbsp;offers a technological seashell through which, in place of the murmuring of the ocean, we hear only&nbsp;the emptiness of digital feedback. Information comes to us without pause, we may be knocked sensless by it. Simpson celebrates&nbsp;our inability to fully grasp the frenetic nature of our time fueld by technological advances. Simultaneously, he offers us both a&nbsp;warning and reassurance about the future. His images and videos subvert our obsession with disaster (as encouraged and fed by&nbsp;mass media) by not showing the event, the disaster itself, but the corpse of it, a site for post-apocolyptic contemplation.
