America's First African American Female Impressionist
I was born with an ear to hear things. I could imitate sounds, animals and people. In 1972 I entered the Miss Black America Pageant to have a national platform. At the time, Moms Mabley and Lawanda Page were the only popular Black Women. After placing, I was headed to Europe to entertain the American troops. I met a guy who convinced Redd Foxx to offer me a management contract. Both my parents died so I ended up moving to NY where I got a job writing for SNL. More is in the book!
