<p>Barrio Works is a community-based program and shop space for youth and adults from urban Phoenix that nurtures and develops hands-on, industrial arts and entrepreneurial skills. We specialize in metal-working, wood-working and bicycle maintenance and repair, but continually learn new skills, teach them, practice them with the purpose of spinning off micro-enterprises that engage community members and fund our work.</p> <p>Chris Williams has run Barrio Works since 2006. He is passionate about the process of designing, building, and creating hand-crafted goods in ways that aren't just about benefitting his community, but revealing the incredible value and talent already at work there.</p>
