A fresh face in the performance world Akintunde received his BA from Southern Connecticut State University and has performed with several Regional Theaters including the Elm Shakespeare Company, Collective Consciousness Theater and the CT Free Shakespeare Company. He made his first Off Broadway debut in the role of " Mado" in Benito Cereno directed by Woodie Ki
