A HAND UP - NOT A HAND OUT

I live in Sault Ste. Marie and have worked at the local steel mill for the past 33 years. In 2009, I travelled to Kenya for my 50th birthday on a humanitarian mission for two months. While there I decided that the way to help those that where impoverished was through education. I came upon TAPA, and was encouraged by their drive to become self-sufficient.

For the past three years I have committed myself both emotionally, financially and professionally. Together we have been developing projects that help TAPA to build capacity that will ensure their self-sufficiency in the future. Each year, I return for one month to provide guidance, encouragement and to monitor and evaluate progress.
