Science Director and Astronomer at Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute
I earned my Ph.D. in Astrophysics in 1984 from the University of Wyoming - I discovered newly forming stars just after gravitational collapse. After postdocs at NASA Ames Research Center and Allegheny Observatory, and a professorship at East Tennessee State University, I accepted the position of Science Director at Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute. At PARI I develop and manage new education and science research programs, including APDA. I also enjoy hiking, vegetable gardening, puzzles.
