A Capricorn: determined goat. First career was as counselor and community organizer in East Oakland, California at a rape crisis, a shelter for battered women, then started and ran a film violence prevention project for men and couples on court referral. Came to nyc to reach people when they weren't in crisis through filmmaking. Spent seven years taking workshops and classes on all different aspects of filmmaking, and worked on low budget grassroots shoots.
