I grew up in a very rural area of Oregon, where our nearest neighbor was a mile away and my public highschool had only 76 students in it - a great place to grow up. Hunting and fishing with my Dad, my love of photography and outdoor adventures filled my childhood with my two brothers and one sister.

After graduating from Tech School in Arizona, I was recruited by the US Gov't and moved to the east coast in my early 20's. While in the Gov't service, I was able to travel to many different continents throughout the world, expanding my perspective in every way imaginable. After meeting and getting to know wonderful people in developing nations, my heart was compelled to reach beyond government service into more focused missional activities. I resigned from the government, married my beautiful wife Debbie and we moved to North Carolina to attend Bible School together.

After entering ministry and a handful of kids later, we launched out to start a church in Winston Salem called Awake Church with the help of several friends, then began a Humanitarian Organization called Hydrating Humanity, which provides clean drinking water in Africa.

My writings began as a teenager, crafting my best Mother's day cards to my mom and grandmother, trying to encourage and share my love for them. Though never easy to write, I always found a creative satisfaction in putting words to paper and describing things not yet fully imagined. As I've grown, I have found that writing for kids and adults alike is a way to tell stories of the most exciting kingdom in the universe, removing boring notions of following Jesus and inspiring generations into adventures of a lifetime.
