As the great-granddaughter of a musical theatre performer, I grew up surrounded by music, with my first musical theatre experience playing the lead role of ‘Calamity Jane’ at high school. My interest in the visual arts led to a career as a photographer where I often found myself in the world of live performance, photographing musicians and singers. I was inspired to pick up a microphone myself at the age of thirty six after reading Julia Cameron’s life-changing book "The Artist’s Way".
