<p>George is a 19-year-old young man who has demonstrated remarkable leadership as a self-advocate for change in the foster care system. As a participant at the nonprofit Peace4Kids, George has created “Project Homebound,” an initiative to raise awareness about the tragic homelessness that faces most youth after transitioning from the foster care system at age 18. George is also an accomplished artist, having directed a music video for a member of the Black Eyed Peas.</p> <p>George is currently in his junior year at Columbia College Hollywood. A native of Compton, George was in foster from the age of one to eighteen.. He has spent a lifetime being an “outsider” in his own home. However, he has found many ways to fit himself nicely into any situation he has been faced with. The result, George has an uncanny eye for people. He has seen and experienced many types of people and seen their tipping points and their motivations. He has turned this fascination of people into his craft and has been developing his own film projects for the past four years. He is now the Chief Creative Officer at his own production company. George has said repeatedly that his goal is to record and tell people’s stories in order to truly document our diversity. George is also collecting stories of youth in foster care to help redefine their culture. </p> <p>George has now made his way up from lone child advocate to a nationwide icon. He has had an article published in the Los Angeles Times and featured in other newspapers and periodicals such as Newsweek and LA Weekly. George has also made his way through the broadcast circuit making appearances on ABC Radio and KPCC. Simply put George is one who has dedicated his life to giving back not only to his community, but the world at large.</p>
