<p>Born and raised in Washington, DC,&nbsp;Aaron&nbsp;Shneyer&nbsp;has been living in Jerusalem since 2006. He is the Founder and Executive Director of Heartbeat which&nbsp;<span style="font-family: arial, sans-serif;">utilizes music and popular media to build understanding and transform conflict, engaging and activating citizens in the Middle East and worldwide. Aaron started&nbsp;</span><span style="font-family: arial, sans-serif;">Heartbeat in 2007&nbsp;</span><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">under a Fulbright-MTV grant to study the power of music to build mutual understanding.</span><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">&nbsp; In 2005 Aaron</span><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">&nbsp;graduated from Georgetown University and since then has worked for many years as a dialogue facilitator and program coordinator with various youth empowerment and civil society peace-building efforts including Seeds of Peace and the Sulha Peace Project.&nbsp;</span>&nbsp;Aaron&nbsp;<span style="color: #222222;">performs with music ensembles throughout the United States, Israel and Palestine, including Mashrou3 Jidi L'Hadat Bal, SAZ and TuRap, a well-known Palestinian Hip-Hop Band, and WhiteFlag, the Palestinian-Israeli Street Fusion band. &nbsp;He is also a founder of Jamaa, a musicians community and record company for social change and unity.</span><span style="color: #3333ff;">&nbsp;</span><span style="color: #3333ff;"><a href="http://www.heartbeat.fm/" target="_blank"><span style="font-family: arial, sans-serif;">www.heartbeat.</span>fm</a>&nbsp;|&nbsp;<a href="http://www.jamaa.in" target="_blank">www.jamaa.in</a></span></p> <p><span style="color: #3333ff;"><br /></span></p>
