Katja is the producer, director and editor of the film "The Right to be Wild," a tale of the Mexican Gray Wolf
While I was rock climbing in India in March of 1998, my mother Nina passed away. After the funeral, my sister gave me a movie camera and told me to make films about wolves. Once in the U.S., I learned about Mexican wolves and about Nina, the last female Mexican wolf in the wild. It was her offspring that got released into the wild in March of 1998. These were the first wolves to roam the landscape in over 40 years. I knew that this was the film I had to do to help raise awareness for the wolves.
