I am a media and arts project junkie and, more recently, something of a social media specialist.

I founded youth organisations at high school and university before establishing Vibewire Youth Media and Arts Inc. in 2000, while still at university, in order to create expression opportunities for young Australians through media, arts and technology. Vibewire projects included Vibewire.net, Reelife Short Film Festival, Interface Anthology of youth writing, the sQuareOne incubator space and electionTracker, which sent youth reports out on the campaign trail during two Federal elections. www.vibewire.org.

I've assisted numerous organisations with program design and communications strategies and for five years organised electronic music events in Sydney under the name 'circuitry'.

In 2003 Vibewire was awarded the NSW Non-Profit Microbusiness of the Year Award and in 2005 received the World Summit Youth Award for Community Engagement as part of the World Summit on the Informaiton Society. In 2007 I was given the Future Summit Leadership Award at the Future Summit, organised by Australian Davos Connections and a Global YouthActionNet Fellowship from the International Youth Foundation.

In April 2008 I moved on from Vibewire and spent time traveling before being appointed Digital Marketing Strategist and Social Media Director at Ashoka - Innovators for the Public in Washington, DC, a new position created for me. My focus is on utilizing social technologies to inspire people to become changemakers. At Ashoka I have established numerous new social media properties, conducted trainings, created policy and strategy and supported the increased use of social media in all aspects of our work.

Earlier this year I moved to San Francisco to become Senior Social Media Consultant with Small Act.

I am passionate about anything that helps people pursue their dreams and connect to like-minded folks which is why I'm excited to be part of the Start Some Good team.
